10 years on from Bitcoin - Does it matter?
Satoshi Nakamoto’s infamous Bitcoin whitepaper outlining a new paradigm for payments detailing a peer-to-peer version of electronic cash enabled through messages in a proof-of-work chain triggered the beginning of a digital asset revolution that continues to this day to challenge ‘traditional’ notions of currency. Is it a genuine store of value or a digital currency? What has a decade of living with bitcoin meant to the world and does it really matter? What are the intended and unintended consequences of the Bitcoin Whitepaper to the world as we look forward 10 years on? This session seeks to put Bitcoin’s original emergence in perspective, and time stamped today as we reset perspectives towards considering what’s lies ahead in the future of digital assets.
