Susan Corbisiero leads Austrade’s Services and Technology team to support Australian companies ‘go global’ and to attract productive foreign direct investment into Australia across fintech, financial services, cybersecurity, blockchain, AI, SaaS, IoT, big data, immersive media and the creative industries.

Susan has diverse international experience in the private and public sectors. She has recently returned to Australia from Shanghai were she was Trade Commissioner and Post Manager, leading trade and investment activities in east China, as well as the financial services team. She initiated the promotion of Australian blockchain capabilities in China, and was appointed a Fellow of the Australian Digital Commerce Association. She has also served as Trade Commissioner in Beijing leading the Food and Agri team. Prior to joining Austrade she managed a multi-disciplinary sustainability research institute at the University of South Australia and held various roles in Indigenous Affairs with the Australian Public Service. She also has extensive experience in the automotive and household appliance industries in China, Australia and North America.

Susan holds an Honours Degree in Banking and Finance, with a Bachelor of Business in International Trade from Monash University. She also studied at the Hopkins-Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies in Nanjing as a recipient of an Australia-China Council scholarship.  Susan is married with two children and speaks Chinese (Mandarin) and Italian.
